When you choose a loft conversion from Charles Jeffrey Ltd, a member of our team will visit your property to carry out a free, no-obligation survey. This enables us to discuss your requirements and provide professional advice on your best option for your property and living space. Subsequently, you will be sent a fixed quotation detailing all proposed work and specifications, according to your needs and budget.
Should you wish to proceed, we will issue a schedule of payments and confirm the agreed work that is to be carried out. The cost of this quotation includes plans, working drawings, and structural calculations drawn up by our expert team. All plans are fully compliant with building regulations.
Upon accepting our quotation, we will ask you to forward a deposit with the completed payment plan so that we can originate plans and secure your place in our working schedule. Please note that your final payment will only be required once all work is completed and passed by local authorities/independent inspectors, and you are happy with the final result.
The proposed plans will be forwarded to you for your approval, enabling you to make any alterations before they are submitted for Local Authority Permission. If you require planning permission, we will also complete and submit the appropriate forms.
During this time, Charles Jeffrey Ltd will also liaise with the council concerning the progress of your application and act accordingly if required. Once planning permission and lawful development approval have been obtained, full plans and structural calculations will be submitted to the Building Control department or independent Building Control inspectors.
We will then send a statutory commencement notice to the council, informing them about when work on your property will begin. Working closely with the appointed inspectors without your conversion, we arrange site visits to inspect our work whenever appropriate.
Once all relevant approvals have been obtained, we will confirm your start date. A team member will meet with you before work commences to keep you informed and ensure minimal disruption to your regular routine. Before commencing work, we will arrange for scaffolding to be erected and materials to be delivered.
